April '13 - Strategic Planning - including PEST analysis
KBC uses a unique approach to review and develop key strategic planning components such as vision, mission, values and principles. Emotional and heart-intelligence facilitation components ensure high-levels of engagement and ownership of the review and developmental work. KBC's focus and facilitation was described by one of the participant's comments ...
'The introduction was really good as it brought the focus to the heart, not just the head.'
Thankyou to staff, community members, key stakeholders, Board and CEO of the Migrant Resource Centre North who participated in the recent KBC facilitated consultations to develop a strategic plan. It was heartening to be part of a process that genuinely intended to consult and to offer opportunities to contribute. Feedback from staff back to their organisation was terrific:
'I think the organisation did really well to consult all the different groups that are touched by the organisation.' Staff team member
'I felt the staff team came away feeling more appreciated by the organisation and more connected.' Staff team member
'The best strategic planning session I attended in my career'. Stakeholder - executive department head

Feb '13 - Launch of NILS Micro Business Loans Report
The 2nd KBC - No Interest Loan Network of Tasmania (NILS) contract resulted in the publication of a 100-page program report detailing the challenges & extraordinary successes of an innovative and Tasmania-only program that provides a small business start-up loan (up to $3,000) to individuals or partners on a low income & on a Government health care card. The report can be accessed via http://www.nilstasmania.org.au/micro-business-loans/
With the assistance of KBC's unique focus on all stakeholders, in particular on clients or service consumers, KBC's whole-of-program or service reviews produce unique evidence and stories that have shown to have financial impacts. Funding body feedback confirmed this and in less than one year the NILS overall budget increased, due to a range of factors, after client appropriateness and impacts were confirmed by the review by several 100%. It has been stagnant for over 7 years.
Oct - Nov '12 - Refinement of Heart Intelligence Programs
Following discussions with businesses, community and health services, we developed - based on over eight years of community experience - a set of 'Heart Intelligence Programs' to be able to assist organisations and staff more directly with some of the core issues that impact on work and team performance.
Since July '12 just under 200 staff and workshop participants attended sessions ranging from 1 hour to 8 hours.
April - May '12 - Innovation & Growth in the Community Sector 'sharing seminar'
A heartfelt thank you to all who enquired about the financial sustainability / social entrepreneurship workshops with Cliff Barclay. As a CEO Cliff grew his service over several 1000% in 14 years, sharing his insights, practices and tools freely. It was a wonderful time of sharing, meeting new people and the responses from many people who made it to one of the events were very positive and encouraging. It led to a range of outcomes:
1. A group of consultants are now discussion a similar workshop series (to be advised)
2. Invitation for Cliff to return to Tasmania to share his insights and experiences with wider audiences
3. One participant reported a first (ever) enterprise initiative triggered by the program
3. Cliff went back to Ballarrat and bought 4 'green', more economical hybrid Camrys for his fleet.
